The Stomach Churns Lab
Today in Science class we did an experiment with an ingredient called hydrochloric acid. First, we have all the tools/ingredients used in the experiment. These tools and ingredients are: test tube rack, pepsin, water, 4 strips of blue litmus paper, cubes of boiled egg white, 10-mL plastic graduated cylinder, 4 test tubes with stoppers, marking pencil, dilute hydrochloric acid and finally plastic stirrers. Then we put the egg white cubes into the test tubes. After that we put 10 mL of the enzyme pepsin in test tube A. Then we added 5mL of pepsin to test tube B. Next we added 10 mL of hydrochloric acid to test tube C. Then finally to test tube D we added 5 mL of pepsin and we added 5 mL of hydrochloric acid. Then we took 4 strips of the litmus paper after that we dipped a clean plastic stirrer into each test tube and we had to put each liquid on the paper which made the paper turn different colors. Tomorrow we will do more but for now that's all.
