Chicken Wing Dissection

In science class we dissected a chicken wing. We saw epithelial tissue, muscle tissue, nerve tissue and connective tissue. First, we felt the chicken's skin it felt a bit bumpy and it was a yellowish color, that was attached to muscle tissue. Next, we observed the muscle tissue. As we were pulling the muscle the wing was moving back and forth. We saw the nerve tissue looking as a red line in the muscle it looked kind of like a red vain. The epithelial tissue would be the skin on the chicken wing. The connective tissue we discussed about bones and about how inside the bones there is marrow and the cartilage. This experiment has taught me about different types of tissue it was also very fun and I would definitely want to do it again

Corn starch and Iodine experiment

Today we did an experiment with a baggy, corn starch, water and iodine. First, we filled the baggy with one spoonful of corn starch. Next we added water to the baggy with the corn starch in it, this caused the water to have a milky color. Then we submerged the baggy into water that had iodine in it. After we left it in there for fifteen minutes the water in the baggy started to look a yellowish brown. This experiment has taught me how powerful some chemicals can be.
